Terms of Service
Effective: July 27, 2026
These Terms govern your use of Ideally. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 13 years old to use Ideally. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, your parent or legal guardian must review and agree to these Terms for you. Some features, including AI features, may require a higher minimum age. You must provide accurate eligibility information and may not circumvent age, safety, plan, or usage restrictions.
You are responsible for safeguarding access to your Apple or Google account, your device, and your Ideally session, and for activity performed through your account. Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.
The service
Ideally helps you save, organize, search, revisit, and share text, links, images, videos, and other content. The service includes an iOS app, share extension, cloud synchronization, optional social-message importing, sharing and collaboration, notifications, and optional AI features.
Ideally is still developing. Features may be added, changed, limited, suspended, or removed, and third-party imports may stop working when a platform changes its systems or policies. We will try to avoid materially reducing a paid feature during its paid term without reasonable notice.
Your content
You keep any ownership rights you have in content you create and submit. You grant Ideally a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, copy, transcode, extract, process, organize, index, transmit, display, and create technical derivatives of that content only as needed to provide, maintain, and secure the features you use. This license ends when the content is deleted from our active systems, subject to the retention described in the Privacy Policy and copies another user independently retains.
You represent that you have the rights and permissions necessary to submit and share your content. Saving a public link for personal organization does not transfer ownership of the linked material to you or Ideally. Do not upload or share content that is unlawful, violates another person's privacy or intellectual-property rights, or exposes someone else's confidential information without permission.
Friends, sharing, and collaboration
Sharing is opt-in. You choose which note, shelf, or board to share and whether a recipient can Collaborate, View, or receive a Copy. Collaborators can edit supported shared content. Viewers receive live updates but cannot edit shared titles or bodies; their personal tags, actions, pins, reminders, and chat history remain private to them. Copies are independent and do not receive later updates. Profile information such as your username and avatar may be shown with invitations and shared content.
- Collaborators can change shared content. A collaborator may add, remove, reorganize, or modify supported shared content, and those changes may be visible to everyone with access.
- Access can affect everyone. The owner may revoke access or disable links. Deleting a collaborative board removes it for every participant after a warning.
- Share links are bearer links. Owners choose Collaborate, View, or Copy when creating a link. Collaborate and View grant live access only between accepted friends; another recipient receives an independent copy instead. Copy links always create an independent copy. A shelf copy includes only notes owned by the person who shared it, not notes contributed by collaborators.
- Access can end. Removing a friendship, blocking an account, or ending a Collaboration revokes the affected live access. A contributor's own notes are returned to their library when their shelf access ends.
- Shared copies may remain. Someone may retain information they independently copied, exported, screenshotted, or saved outside Ideally before access ended.
Do not use sharing to harass, threaten, impersonate, expose private information, distribute non-consensual intimate material, or send illegal or abusive content. Report abuse or rights concerns to ideallydev@gmail.com.
Third-party content and services
Ideally may authenticate through, link to, display previews from, or import content sent from third-party services such as Apple, Google, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and other websites. Your use of those services remains governed by their terms. Ideally does not control and is not responsible for third-party content, accuracy, availability, changes, outages, removals, or access restrictions. An imported preview may be incomplete, lower quality, unavailable, or different from the original.
AI features
AI features may process content and context as described in the Privacy Policy. Eligibility may depend on age, plan, usage limits, provider terms, and regional availability. AI-generated titles, summaries, shelf choices, tags, search results, edits, chat responses, and actions may be incomplete, inappropriate, or incorrect. You are responsible for reviewing outputs and changes before relying on or sharing them.
Do not use Ideally as a substitute for professional medical, legal, financial, emergency, or safety advice. Do not submit information to AI features that you lack permission to process.
Reminders and notifications
Reminders and notifications are convenience features and may be delayed, suppressed, duplicated, or unavailable because of device settings, network conditions, provider failures, or software errors. Do not rely on Ideally for emergencies, medication timing, legal deadlines, financial deadlines, or another safety-critical purpose.
Plans, limits, and future purchases
Some features may be free during testing and later require a subscription or other purchase. Ideally may apply daily, monthly, storage, file-size, media-duration, safety, or abuse-prevention limits. Before charging you, the app will disclose the price, billing period, included features, renewal terms, and available cancellation method. Purchases made through Apple are also governed by Apple's applicable purchase terms and refund rules.
Acceptable use
You may not misuse the service; interfere with its operation; probe or access another account without authorization; defeat security, age, payment, or usage controls; automate abusive traffic; distribute malware; scrape other users; impersonate someone; upload unlawful or harmful material; infringe intellectual-property, publicity, or privacy rights; or use Ideally to exploit, threaten, harass, or harm another person. You may not use AI features in a manner prohibited by the applicable provider terms.
We may investigate reports, remove or restrict content, disable a share link, limit features, or suspend an account when reasonably necessary to protect users, enforce these Terms, comply with law, or preserve the service.
Copyright and other rights
If you believe content available through Ideally infringes your copyright or another legal right, email ideallydev@gmail.com with identification of the work or right, the relevant content or link, your contact information, and a good-faith explanation of the concern. We may request additional information before acting.
Availability and termination
We may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect users, enforce these Terms, comply with law, respond to provider restrictions, or maintain the service. You may stop using Ideally or delete your account in the app at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination—including ownership, licenses needed for retained data, disclaimers, liability limits, and dispute-related provisions—will survive.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ideally is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, preservation of every item, delivery of every notification, permanent availability of third-party content, compatibility with every shared link, or accurate AI output.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ideally will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, goodwill, or opportunities arising from your use of or inability to use the service. Nothing in these Terms excludes a right or liability that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.
Responsibility for claims
To the extent permitted by law, you are responsible for claims, losses, and reasonable costs arising from content you unlawfully submit or share, your material violation of these Terms, or your infringement of another person's rights. This section does not apply where prohibited by law or to the extent a claim results from Ideally's own conduct.
Changes
We may update these Terms as Ideally evolves. We will update the effective date and provide additional notice when a material change requires it. Changes apply prospectively. If you do not agree to revised Terms, stop using the service and delete your account.
General
These Terms and the Privacy Policy form the agreement between you and Ideally concerning the service. If a provision cannot be enforced, the remaining provisions remain in effect. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer your account or these Terms without our permission; Ideally may transfer these Terms as part of a merger, financing, reorganization, or sale of the service, subject to applicable law.
